Town Hall: Proposed Plastic Bag Fee

From City Council Member Laurie A. Cumbo:

“Have you heard that NYC may impose a 5¢ fee on all plastic & paper bags? The fee will not be applied to purchases of restaurant meals, prescription drugs, and groceries bought with food stamps.

Join me this Tuesday, May 3rd at 6:30PM for a community conversation, to hear from advocates, from both sides, speak about the bill, implications and Q & A.

Please come out and share your opinions, we really need to hear from you; your voice will matter! The Town Hall will be a respectful dialogue, and to be fully balanced, we urge you to come with family and friends.

FREE tote bags will be distributed to all attendees, generously provided by Citizens Committee for New York City.”
