  A program for non-college-bound young people, court-involved people and veterans to get well-paying union jobs at Citi Bike

  • Training by Bike New York
  • One Community will recruit trainees and organize soft-skill training
  • Initial support from Council Majority Leader Laurie Cumbo and The City of New York through the Myrtle Avenue Revitalization Project
  • Pratt Institute donates bikes abandoned on campus
  • Commencing in spring 2019
  • Training 50 mechanics per year
  • Recruiting through NYCHA Tenants Associations and many other partners:
  • Youth: schools, Center for Community Alternatives, Gangstas Making Amazing Community Change, basketball coaches Lee Church and Bob Byer, football coach Lloyd Rodriguez, 88th Precinct Youth Officer Justin Torres, Ingersoll Community Center, Navy Yard Boys and Girls Club and exalt
  • Formerly incarcerated: Fortune Society, Osborne Society, Doe Fund, CASES, Women’s Project at Fedcap, STEPS to End Family Violence, Hour Children, Housing Plus, Hour Children, Center for Court Innovation
  • Veterans: Black Veterans for Justice
