The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) has announced details for a new affordable senior housing building to rise within the Ingersoll Houses in Fort Greene.  Real estate development firm BFC Partners has been selected to build a 16-story building at the corner of Myrtle Avenue and St. Edwards Street.  The residential building will offer 145 apartments to low-income seniors.

According to NYCHA, residents of the new building must be at least 62 years of age and earn 60% or less of the area median income.  The new development, titled Ingersoll Senior, will also house a senior center which will provide cultural, health and social services for community residents.
