DESCRIPTION:Every 3rd Saturday of the month during Summer 2014\, the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership\, in collaboration with the Fort Greene Park Conservancy\, will host a FREE guided walking tour through Fort Greene Park and the historic Wallabout neighborhood to the north. \nThe neighborhood\, most of which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as historic district\, has a beautiful mix of pre-Civil War homes and late 19th century industrial buildings. The walk will discuss how the neighborhood has developed since the Dutch first arrived in the early 1600’s and highlight notable residents\, such as Walt Whitman.  Information and resources regarding Whitman are being provided by The Walt Whitman Project. \nThe 1 hour and 45 minute minute tour begins in Fort Greene Park\, includes a 1.5 mile walk\, and concludes at 99 Ryerson St. The event is free\, but space is limited. \nPLEASE REGISTER BELOW THROUGH EVENTBRITE.

Stulman \nCelebrating Color is an exhibition of recent paintings by Brazilian artist\, Elisa Carreno. Carreno\, who recently moved to Brooklyn\, continues her love of vibrant color\, which exudes the care-free spirit of her homeland. \nMany of Carreno’s abstract paintings are modest sized\, but are packed with visual sensation. Carreno considers all aspects of the painting including texture\, patterning\, and color mixing\, which transform her 2D design into a 3D art object. \nCarreno often uses directional patterning to move the eye through the composition. She builds bounded shapes of texture to contrast her flat fields of solid color. Her attitude towards painting is lively and evolving as she continues to play with mixed techniques. She reminds us of the fun in painting. \nCelebrating Color exhibition is FREE and open to the public for all ages! \nPushkin Creperie Café is located at 541 Myrtle Ave near the campus of Pratt Institute (between Steuben and Emerson Sts.\, across from the Pratt Store). DESCRIPTION:THE JUNE 21st TOUR IS SOLD OUT.  HOWEVER\, REGISTRATION IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR OTHER TOUR DATES IN JULY\, AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER. \n  \nEvery 3rd Saturday of the month during Summer 2014\, the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership\, in collaboration with the Fort Greene Park Conservancy\, will host a FREE guided walking tour through Fort Greene Park and the historic Wallabout neighborhood to the north. \nThe neighborhood\, most of which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as historic district\, has a beautiful mix of pre-Civil War homes and late 19th century industrial buildings. The walk will discuss how the neighborhood has developed since the Dutch first arrived in the early 1600’s and highlight notable residents\, such as Walt Whitman.  Information and resources regarding Whitman are being provided by The Walt Whitman Project. \nThe 1 hour and 45 minute minute tour begins in Fort Greene Park\, includes a 1.5 mile walk\, and concludes at 99 Ryerson St. The event is free\, but space is limited. \nPLEASE REGISTER BELOW THROUGH EVENTBRITE.
