DESCRIPTION:Part of BAMcafé Live 2020\nBlues-punk supergroup the 1865 has described its sound as “Bad Brains meets Foo Fighters in a black woman’s hair salon for a cup of tea.” The fivesome highlights the past with a warning for the present\, with songs like “John Brown’s Gat” and “Buckshot” landing somewhere between a history lesson and a battle cry. The Brooklyn band includes founder and lead guitarist Sacha Jenkins\, percussionist Chuck Treece\, Afro-Brazilian bassist Flora Lucini\, drummer Jason “Biz” Lucas\, and Carolyn “Honeychild” Coleman on lead vocals and baritone guitar.
