SUMMARY:OUR WORDS: Performances\, installation and video projection create space for Black LGBTSTGNC stories
DESCRIPTION:Black Artstory month 2020  salutes Fort Greene and Clinton Hill African-American artists and activists that creatively and courageously wielded their words in pursuit of a higher cause through the SOME WORDS festival. Programs will be held for all ages\, from art installations to oral history shares/collections\, to performances\, installation and video projection. \nYou are invited to “Our Words”\nPerformances\, installation\, and video projection combine to create space for Black LGBTSTGNC stories curated by ourselves.  Produced by Acacia Rodriguez in partnership with the Audre Lorde Project. This work can be visited at Bldg92 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard\, 63 Flushing Avenue.\nSpace is limited\, RSVP is required. RSVP HERE.\n \nInitiated as an organizing effort by a coalition of LGBTSTGNC People of Color\, The Audre Lorde Project was first brought together by Advocates for Gay Men of Color (a multi-racial network of gay men of color HIV policy advocates) in 1994. \nThe vision for ALP grew out of the expressed need for innovative and unified community strategies to address the multiple issues impacting LGBTSTGNC People of Color communities. \nALP secured and moved into its Fort Greene home\, in the parish house of the Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church\, during the summer of 1996. \n
