Bike the Branches for the BPL, 5/9

Sat, May 9th, 2015 @ 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Join the Brooklyn Public Library on Saturday, May 9 for Bike the Branches—a fun and adventurous one-day bike ride to benefit the Library.

Get ready to explore Brooklyn’s cultural hubs, diverse neighborhoods, local eateries and breathtaking views and discover the network of 60 neighborhood libraries.

Enjoy a fun-filled day of biking and get your Branch Passport stamped at as many branches as you can visit between 10 am and 5 pm. Throughout the day, stop in at the branches to recharge and enjoy entertainment and exciting activities. Cap it off at the all-new Bike the Branches Block Party at Central Library from 5 – 7 pm.

New for 2015!

  • Fun new tours curated by the Library’s Brooklyn Collection and partners including Smorgasburg, Curious George, Citi Bike, Groundswell, the Municipal Art Society, Prospect Park and many others (not just for cyclists—you can walk and run the tours too!).
  • The grand finale gets even bigger: This year, the Bike the Branches Block Party closing celebration expands to include food vendors, live music, awards and activities for participants of all ages!

First, second and third place prizes (based on stamps collected) will go to adults and children who visit the most branches!

Ask your family and friends to sponsor your ride by taking our Bike the Branches Fundraising Challenge and win a BKLYN Public Library Tote Bag for raising $250 or more!
Register today to Bike the Branches and support Brooklyn Public Library with a rewarding day of wellness, literacy and community. The first 100 people who register will be entered into a special prize drawing! Space is limited. Please register early.

Bike the Branches is part of the Library’s annual Support the Branches spring campaign (formerly known as Support our Shelves). All proceeds from Support the Branches and Bike the Branches help fund Brooklyn Public Library’s work to bring vital services, resources and programs to every neighborhood in Brooklyn. With your dollars, our collections grow, computer equipment is upgraded and more community programs are developed and enjoyed by our diverse populations.
