
Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership and Neno’s present Summer Sounds, a free, lively afternoon of music and celebration on the Myrtle Avenue Plaza on Saturday, July 25 from 2–8pm.
The lineup brings together a vibrant mix of Latin jazz, salsa, banda, norteño, cumbia, sonidero, and indie rock, featuring The Benny Lopez Latin Jazz Ensemble, Los Carnales de Chinantla, DJ Sonido Scorpio, and Brooklyn-based indie rock project DJ Silky Smooth. Summer Sounds invites the community to gather, dance, and enjoy an energetic summer concert experience on Myrtle Avenue.

THE BENNY LOPEZ JAZZ ENSEMBLE
The Benny Lopez Latin Jazz Ensemble brings high-energy Latin jazz and salsa to the stage with infectious rhythms, soulful solos, and a vibrant sound that gets audiences moving. LOS CARNALES DE CHINANTLA
Hailing from the town of Chinantla in the state of Puebla, Mexico, Los Carnales de Chinantla bring the sounds of banda and norteño and corridos to the Myrtle Avenue stage, sharing the lively regional Mexican music of their hometown.

SONIDO SCORPIO
Sonido Scorpio brings high-energy cumbia and sonidero flavor to Myrtle Ave, blending regional Mexican rhythms, party classics, and the lively sound-system spirit of Mexican celebration. The result is an atmosphere full of music, movement, and puro ambiente. @sonidoscorpio

DJ SILKY SMOOTH
DJ Silky Smooth brings a playful, offbeat indie rock sound shaped by bedroom pop, experimental production, and sample-driven textures.
