Wicked Good Franks: 579 Myrtle Avenue

Wed, Jul 20th, 2011

Darned if hotdogs don't conjure up thoughts of all that is right with the world–baseball games, childhood trips to the circus, outings in the park, one of many good things sizzling on a barbeque grill…

And you can get a daily dose of that goodness at Wicked Good Franks
at 579 Myrtle Avenue (at Myrtle and Classon). It's open!

Check out the delicious franks, sausages and plethora of homemade toppings. Meat and non meat eaters delight, there's quite a variety from which to select. A sampling of what's on the menu: the Southern (bacon-wrapped deep fried frank w/gorganzola cheese coleslaw; the Santa Fe (poblano and cubenelle peppers, avocado, manchego cheese, pickled red onions and crushed tortilla chips); the Buffalo (buffalo sauce, carrots, celery and homemade blue cheese dressing); the Italian (mustard, swiss cheese, pickles and red pastrami); the Reuben (homemade sauerkraut, swiss cheese and homemade russian dressing). And also check out the wide variety of sides, including fresh cut fries, homemade pierogis, homemade baked beans, italian rice balls and cheeseburger spring rolls. For dessert, enjoy the cupcakes of the day, zeppoles and nutella, fried pickles and deep fried PB&J.

Quote from the Wicked Good Franks website: “We have a passion for good American food and there is nothing more satisfying than standing on a corner in the heart of Brooklyn, eating a perfect hot dog or sausage. You can't really get more American than that.” (owner, Bruno Iannotta)
