Come celebrate our latest Myrtle Windows Gallery exhibition tonight at SoCo (509 Myrtle between Ryerson and Grand), a brand new jazz/southern fusion cuisine restaurant that we're happy to introduce. Bring your friends, meet the artists, nosh on some tasty nibbles and sip of some refreshing cocktails from 6-8pm on Thursday June 16th. The event is free!

Have you seen the artwork? We're showing the works of 11 artists in 11 storefronts for the next three weeks. Use this handy map to stroll the avenue and see them all, and get some good deals in the process!

More about Dots and Dashes :
Dots and Dashes, is an exhibition about patterns and
their place within systems. The exhibition title refers to
the series of tones that comprise Morse Code – a method
of transmitting textual data. The artworks displayed in
Dots and Dashes reveal an affinity for repetitive mark
making and recurring formal elements. Some of the works
faithfully communicate the complexity of patterns found
in nature and man made structures, while others distill this
complexity into simple geometric forms. Organic systems,
diagrams of consumption, maps, and human history are
among the many issues explored through the selected
artworks. Dots and Dashes is curated by Christina Vassallo
as part of the Myrtle Ave Brooklyn Partnership Curator-in-
Residence program.
