Birds are singing and flowers are blooming across New York City, but especially along Myrtle Avenue in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
King among the spring flowering street trees are large Callery Pear trees. Myrtle Avenue is blessed with several mature pear trees, located between Vanderbilt Avenue and Hall Street. Their bright white flowers dominate the streetscape, but will soon to be replaced by a thick canopy of dark green leaves that protect us from harsh summer sun.
Bulbs along Fort Greene Park (above), inside Trilok Center, and inside the Whitman and Ingersoll Gardens are also in bloom. Stroll through the photos below then stroll down Myrtle Avenue to see for yourself.
