For our 4th Annual Black Artstory Month:ย Some Assembly Required, we are seeking filmmakers, poets, musicians, spoken word artists, actors and visual artists to submit artworks, performances, text, films, or mural designs that respond to our monthโ€™s mission:

The month willย reflect on the importance and the role of gatherings, groups, collaborations, assemblies and collective conversations in regards to sparking and pursuing social, cultural, political and creative breakthroughs and change within our society: historically and in the present moment.

Black Artstory Monthย celebrates the enduring influences and contributions made by African Americans within the visual and performing arts worlds. ย The month-long eventย will be taking place from February 1-29, 2016 at venues, storefronts and merchant spaces along Myrtle Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
