As part of Black History Month, Green in BKLYN is hosting pop ups throughout the month featuring local Black-owned businesses and their makers. On Saturday, Feb. 24, from 12 – 5pm, stop by to meet multidisciplinary artist Dig Ferreira who will be selling his hand painted clothing, postcards and portraits.
Based in Brooklyn, NY, Ferreira’s artistic expression is built upon four pillars: drawing, painting, music, and dance. Forging Armors explores the profound impact of art on our perceptions of clothing, consumption and self-image insecurities. Using second-hand clothes as blank canvases, along with stencils, stamps, sprays, and a vibrant palette, Ferreira breathes life into these materials, transforming them into living symbolic armors full of new meaning. These creations are not just pieces of clothing but also tools of empowerment.
Doc – Drawing immortalizes significant moments through drawings that blend performance, observation, feelings, and emotions. Each drawing is unique, impossible to be replicated. Feelings and forms are no longer the same… Doc – Drawing is a gift for those interested in the secret language of images. It’s a perfect blend of recording and performance for weddings, birthdays, events, lectures, children’s parties, concerts, and other memorable experiences.
