Anna Larson Von Muehlen – Metro: The Story of an Underground Artist
About Emily:
Emily Sherman Marynczak is a certified birth educator and doula with nearly 30 years experience helping parents bring their children into the world. She is an activist, artist, and mother.
Emily’s Birth Book is a 16-week interactive course in pregnancy and
birth preparation that teaches women how to participate in their medical care and build agency in their birth process. The evidence-based info in this book enables folks to conduct their pregnancy confidently.
About Anna:
Anna Larson Von Muehlen is an activist, teacher, and Sustainability Coordinator at Compass Charter School. Her children’s book, Metro: The Story of an Underground Artist, about a creative and free thinking NYC rat, was written as part of her masters thesis in Special & Gen. Childhood Education at Bank Street College long ago.
Like Metro, Anna is a maker with her brand Sheep & Squirrel. She hopes to inspire children to make new, useful things out of “trash,” to encourage reusing to combat single use culture, and to find play in everyday life. Each item Anna makes is slightly different— including upcycled bandana bibs, wipeable oilcloth bibs, caregiver necklaces made from cotton line and wooden beads, and nature inspired acorn trinkets.
