👀 Have you noticed the latest addition to Myrtle Avenue’s Plaza? 👀

Since 2019, the Foundation Expanded: Myrtle Avenue Public Projects initiative, has engaged first-year Pratt students to conceptualize, develop and submit designs for an annual installation that wraps three utility boxes with vinyl art on the Myrtle Avenue Plaza.

This year, Pratt student David Chen created “Oz in NYC”, inspired by The Wizard of Oz and the NYC subway system. “Even in the midst of the hustle and bustle of city life,” writes Chen, “we can still hold onto our dreams and our sense of wonder.”

Come see, pause and enjoy a moment of whimsy on our pedestrian plaza with David’s installation, “Oz in NYC”.

About the Collab:
Foundation Expanded: Myrtle Ave Public Projects (MAPP) is a collaboration between Pratt Institute’s Foundation department and the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership (MABP) to involve first-year Pratt students in community-engaged works. Foundation Expanded directly connects students and faculty to civic engagement through public works and improves the experience of the plaza as a prominent and active public space.
