This historic photo from the NYC 1940’s Tax Photo collection shows the storefronts for Maggie Brown, the under-construction Peck’s, and A-Rod Grocery. Peck’s, slated to open in September in the former Thai 101 space (now located across the street), is shown in the center of the photo with the large awning. The space to the right, now to home to A-Rod Grocery, is shown here as a restaurant, bar & grill. Although the storefronts look different today, the buildings themselves are still in great shape with beautiful brownstone facades. A support for the former Myrtle Avenue El, removed in 1969, is seen on the left side of the photo.
